Fun Argentina attractions for any vacation

There is so much to do when you visit Argentina, and many of the Argentina attractions you’ll enjoy are right in or around the capital city, Buenes Aires.  Argentina’s capital city creates one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world and offers a paradise for shoppers and those who enjoy architecture alike.

One of the most well-known Argentina attractions located right in Buenes Aires is the Metropolitan Cathedral, which holds the remains of San Martin, the liberator of Argentina.  The world’s largest opera house, Teatro Colon, also belongs on any list of beautiful Argentina attractions located in the country’s capital city.  The massive opera house takes up an entire block along the city’s main street.

Art lovers will enjoy the Isaac Fernandez Blanco Museum of Spanish-American Art, which is housed in a neo-colonial mansion.  The Ambrosetti Museum and the Museum of Colonial History should also be on the art lover’s “to do“ list, as should La Boca, which is the old artists’ quarter of the city.  This area was actually the birthplace of the tango, so it has some very important history.

For those who enjoy traditional family fun as far as Argentina attractions go, there’s also a zoo and even a planetarium located in Buenes Aires.  There are also plenty of hot night spots to dance the night away.

When you’re ready to venture out of the country’s capital city, there are plenty of other Argentina attractions that you’re sure to enjoy.  Cabildo is the former Spanish town hall, and it’s located just outside of Buenes Aires, and it’s home to some amazing colonial architecture that dates back to the 1800s.  You’ll also get to see a changing of the guard ceremony outside the former Spanish town hall.  The guard still wears traditional uniforms that were designed centuries ago.  You’ll also enjoy a small museum that’s full of religious icons, relics, and watercolor paintings.

If you’re looking for more of a resort trip, then you don’t want to miss Mar del Plata, which is Argentina’s most popular beach resort, boasting about three million local tourists every summer.

You’ll have a truly unique experience at the Casa Rosada, another Argentina attraction that’s located not far from the capital city.  The Casa Rosada is the Presidential Palace, and the balcony on this building is probably one of the most famous ones in the world.  This pink building has witnessed centuries of tragedy, including many political rallies, especially during the time of Juan and Eva Peron.

Nature lovers will also find plenty of Argentina attractions to take their breath away.  The Iguazu National Park is a subtropical rainforest that covers 135,000 acres.  It’s home to thousands of different species of flowers and birds, and one of the most famous Argentina attractions is actually located inside the park.  Iguazu Falls is a beautiful waterfall that falls on the border with Brazil, dropping 230 feet, which is almost twice the height of Niagara Falls.  There are also plenty of water sports to take part in on the river, so a trip to this park is certainly never going to be boring.
